In Year 11, the task for a Kuching student changes from mastering the material to producing it under exam pressure, a distinct skill that the final year exists to build. Intensive exam preparation puts it at the centre. Our team of experienced English teachers works directly to the exam with a Kuching student: interpreting each question, planning fast and writing complete answers inside the time.
This late in the course we add little new content, preferring to refine technique, remove the recurring errors that cost easy marks and steady confidence through practice. The point is that a Kuching student walks into the exam rehearsed and calm, so the paper shows their real standard rather than the strain of the moment.
What we cover
Final-year lessons revolve around timed work. Our team of experienced English teachers sets a Kuching student past and practice questions against the clock and marks them by the assessment criteria your board issues, so the leap from a decent to an excellent answer is clear to see. We rehearse the reading questions for pace and accuracy and the writing tasks for planning and length, then work on managing the paper itself, the order to tackle it, how to apportion the time and what to do with the last few minutes.
For Literature candidates, set-text revision is boiled down to usable quotations and arguments. Throughout, the run of lessons tracks your school's timetable and your board's syllabus.
Lessons are online, one-to-one and timetabled around school. The first step is a paid one-hour trial.
Lessons without leaving Kuching
Lessons reach Kuching and the rest of Sarawak through a screen, with reading and writing taught one-to-one and fitted around the school day. For local schools and travel, see our Kuching page or the Sarawak page.
The shape of a lesson
The routine is simple: one teacher, one student, one hour, timetabled around school. Lessons are from RM70/hr, with the exact figure agreed before booking, and the first step is a one-hour paid trial.
