Editorial policy

Open reference book, paper draft and pencil on a desk.

This page explains who writes our content, how we keep it accurate and how to tell us about a mistake.

Who writes our content

Our teaching team writes the pages and publishes them under the team name. You can meet the teachers on our teachers page. Rig, who founded IGCSE English Malaysia, appears only on the about page and does not write subject pages.

Original materials

Our team writes the model responses, practice tasks and source passages, and labels them as ours. We do not copy board past papers, mark schemes, insert texts or copyrighted literary works. We explain set texts in our own words and link to the board's official pages.

Board facts

We check syllabus and exam facts against the exam boards' own official pages. These include paper structure, marks, weightings and grading scales. The documents are listed on our sources page. If we cannot confirm a detail, we leave it out. Our methodology explains the steps.

What we do not publish

  • Invented statistics, results, rankings or student testimonials.
  • Promises of a particular grade.
  • Predictions of grade thresholds or of what will appear in a future paper.

Dates

The dates on each page show when it was first published and when it last changed. We change a date only when the page changes.

Corrections

Syllabuses and set texts change, and we can make mistakes. If you spot something wrong, message us on WhatsApp with the page and what you found. We check it against the board's document and correct the page. The board's current documents always come first; see our disclaimer.
