Johor Bahru's students arrive from a wide spread of schools, Crescendo-HELP International among them, alongside the many private and international schools scattered from the CIQ area out towards Tebrau. That breadth means no two students sit exactly the same IGCSE English pathway, so general tuition here has to flex across First Language, ESL and Literature and across Cambridge, Edexcel and OxfordAQA. Our team of experienced English teachers builds each course around the strand and board a JB student is actually entered for, working alongside the school rather than across it, so a mobile border-city family gets steady, focused English whatever the causeway crossing is doing that week.
What we cover
We teach all three IGCSE English strands to Johor Bahru students. We begin by confirming which one your child sits and with which board, since the reading and writing demands differ. For First Language students we build close reading of unseen texts and structured essay writing.
For ESL, clear directed tasks and accurate extended writing; for Literature, argument and quotation on set texts. Lessons run one-to-one online in Years 9, 10 and 11, so a student near City Square and one out at Danga Bay reach the same teacher.
Your child needs no travel. The teacher joins from a screen, and the trial is one paid hour.
Local to Johor Bahru, taught online
Wherever a student is in Johor Bahru, location does not change the lesson. What counts is a quiet spot, a steady connection and a slot that suits the family. For local schools and travel, see our Johor Bahru page, the Johor Bahru district or the Johor page.
Inside a lesson
The routine is simple: one teacher, one student, one hour, timetabled around school. Lessons are from RM70/hr, with the exact figure agreed before booking, and the first step is a one-hour paid trial.
